New Jersey 4, New Hampshire 1

New Jersey starting pitcher Isaac Pavlik turned in a terrific performance and led the Jackals to victory over the American Defenders of New Hampshire. Pavlik went eight innings allowing one earned run on four hits with seven strikeouts. With the win, Pavlik is now 5-1 on the season. C Matt Lauderdale and 3B Mike Scanzano each collected three hits on the afternoon to lead the Jackals offense. The Jackals’ magic number to clinch the first half title is now one.

Sussex 9, Worcester 5

A tremendous day at the plate by Sussex SS Mark Pappas leads the Skyhawks to a 9-5 win over the Worcester Tornadoes. Pappas went 2-for-3 with a first inning grand slam, two runs scored and six runs driven in. Sussex starting pitcher Mike Schellinger evened his record at 3-3 with the victory. Schellinger went five innings giving up four earned runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts. 3B Chris Colabello, 1B Nick Salotti and LF Mike MacMillan each had three-hit days for the Tornadoes in defeat.

Brockton 7, Quebec 6

@ Brockton, MA. Time: 3:11 Attendance: 2,633

W: Matt Zachary (3-1) L: Chris Allen (3-4) S: Jerry Dunn (7)

HR: QC-Pierre-Luc LaForest (11)

The Brockton Rox rallied from a 5-3 deficit with a four-run sixth inning and defeated the Quebec Capitales to win their eighth straight game. The six through nine hitters for the Rox went a combined 8-for-16 at the plate with five runs scored and four runs driven in. Matt Zachary pitched two scoreless innings in relief for Brockton to notch his third victory of the year. Quebec 1B Pierre-Luc LaForest hit his league leading 11th home run of the season in a 3-for-4 day.
