AUGUSTA, N.J. – The Sussex Skyhawks lost their second straight game to the Worcester Tornadoes 5-2 Wednesday afternoon at Skylands Park. Tornadoes pitcher Santiago Ramirez earned the win throwing one inning while closer Anthony Sullivan picked up his third save of the season by throwing a perfect ninth.
Alex Trezza and Nick Salotti gave the Tornadoes the lead in the eighth inning after being tied since the fourth inning. Garrett Olson added an insurance run in the ninth.
Worcester Tornadoes starter Ryan Lobban (no decision) went six innings giving up one earned run on nine hits. Lobban pitched out of a bases loaded no outs jam in the sixth inning.
Sussex Skyhawks starter Roger Lincoln (no decision) pitched seven innings giving up two earned runs on five hits. Skyhawks reliever Carter Clements pitched two innings giving up three runs on four hits in the lose.
Maikel Jova drove in the Sussex Skyhawks only runs of the game them an early 2-0 lead.
The Skyhawks will remain at home to face Quebec while Worcester will travel back home to face New Hampshire.
